CITIGROUP BANK AUSTRALIAN PORTRAIT PRIZE - AGNSW

Four of Stills artists have been included in this year's Citigroup Photographic Portrait Prize at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Trent Parke, Petrina Hicks, William Yang and Shayne Higson have all been selected to be exhibited as finalists. Trent Parke's work, 'Bethany', has been Highly Commended by the panel. View Portfolio

JOSEPHINE ULRICK & WIN SCHUBERT PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD
GOLD COAST CITY ART GALLERY

In this year's prestigious Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert Photography Award, judged by Alasdair Foster, seven Stills artists have been selected from 1000 entries to be among the 77 finalists. On show at the Gold Coast City Art Gallery will be 'Tina' by Brook Andrew, 'Man About Town' by Brenda Croft, 'Jackson and Tiger' by Petrina Hicks, 'Your little Bird' by Shayne Higson, 'Lost' by Polixeni Papapetrou, 'Marine micro-organism' by Stephanie Valentin and 'Mud man' by Paul Blackmore.

Other artists included are for still-based photomedia work. The Award will be announced at the official opening on Saturday 7 May at 6pm. View Portfolio
 


POLIXENI PAPAPETROU
HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN BICENTENARY
Polixeni Papapetrou has been commissioned to create two works to celebrate the bicentenary of Hans Christian Andersen's birth. Seventy-two international artists were assigned stories by Andersen and asked to explore their subjective visual language. The works will be published in a double-volume book that will be launched in the UK in April 2005.

An exhibition will be held at the Arts Club in London in conjunction with the book launch and will later travel to various cities, including Paris, Berlin, St Petersburg and Tokyo. View Portfolio
