Donna Bailey - Zoë
Exhibition: 13 February to 16 March, 2002
Donna Bailey takes photos of those closest to her - her children. In an intense and personal series of portraits, Bailey shares with us her daughter Zoë's world. The images convey the sometimes awkward transition from girl to woman - the sense of independence as well as the need for comfort. Also revealed in this series is a mother's relationship to her daughter. For Bailey, the process of making these images and the collaboration with Zoë form a visual dialogue between mother and daughter, a visual conversation and reminiscence.
