Helen Aladjadjian
Exhibition: 20 November to 23 December, 2002
Helen Aladjadjian, an artist usually engaged with paintbrushes or etching plates, has turned her attention to photography. She has produced pinhole photographs, relishing the relative lack of technical control. Every one of her gothic images has the element of surprise. Time moves at a different pace within these works - only prolonged or deliberate stillness registering an intelligible trace. Aladjadjian plays with these elements to create her atmospheric and uncertain worlds.
