Juliana Swatko - Sweet Dreams

Juliana Swatko began exploring alternative technologies as a means of extending the language of photography way before digital imaging opened up the terrain. With Sweet Dreams, she has embraced the ability of the computer to replace some of her earlier techniques. The images in Sweet Dreams, constructed digitally and printed on watercolour paper, have mere traces of colour and suggestions of shape and movement - a flying foot, a leaf, a breath of wind - which draw us close the experience of a dream.
